Sydney based investment company Gwynvill Group has a long-standing relationship with the developer Huntingdale Properties. Gwynvill’s Sean Tieck and Huntingdale Properties’ John Gilmour spent considerable time, effort and research to establish the first over 50s five star resort in New South Wales. The partners agreed that the mid-north coast and the Lake Cathie site in particular, was the standout location. Then, over a seven year time period, the vast 25 Ha property holding was secured. The next challenging stage involved the application and approval on the overall planning and design from Port Macquarie Hastings Council, leading to the final construction of the resort, opening in January 2013. The response from over 50’s has shown that it’s been worth the wait now that the community has grown to more than 300 active homeowners. Ocean Club Resort is a long-term investment project for the partners who are delighted that the concept of five-star yet affordable living has been so widely embraced.
